Dan Hoy | Vocal & Audition Masterclass with Broadway’s Dan Hoy
Friday, June 19
7-8:30pm
Limit 12 participants
Born and raised in Northeastern Ohio, Dan Hoy is a Broadway actor and vocal coach with over a decade of professional experience spanning some of the most demanding and celebrated stages in the world. His work includes Broadway, off-Broadway, national tours, television, and international productions — with credits including Harmony, Pirates! The Penzance Musical, Cats, Masquerade, and a wide range of concerts and regional engagements. A proud alumnus of
Baldwin Wallace University, Dan holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Theatre and a Pedagogical Certification from New York Vocal Coaching. But Dan’s biography is only part of the story. What he brings into the room is the perspective of someone who has lived the audition process, navigated the pressures of professional performance, and learned how to translate that experience into something both practical and transformative.
In this masterclass, Dan brings his performing expertise directly into the studio, offering vocal, acting, and audition coaching for both current and future professionals. Whether you’re preparing for your first audition or refining years of experience, this is a space designed to meet you where you are — and push you further.
Dan’s teaching is rooted in an individualized approach, drawing from a range of vocal philosophies — including Bel Canto, Estill, and CVT — and applying them to each student’s unique instrument and artistic goals. No two voices are alike, and no two sessions are the same.
At the heart of his philosophy is a simple idea: strong vocal technique should feel like a foundation, not a ceiling. When the mechanics of the voice become second nature — when breath, resonance, and placement no longer require conscious effort — the real work of acting can begin. Intention, emotion, and storytelling come forward, and the voice becomes the vehicle rather than the obstacle.
Technique as foundation. Storytelling as priority.
